MANNINGHAM STUDENT POETRY TRUST AWARDS
GRADES 6–8
(Junior Division)
GRADES 9-12
(Senior Division)
No entry fee.

Any subject, any form, 50 line limit.
Each state is allowed to submit 10 top poems for each division.
RULES:
  1.  Deadline: February 8, 2012 Postmark Do not mail entries before January, 10 2012
  2.  Awards in each division: First - $75 ; Second - $50; Third - $40 ; Fourth - $35; Fifth - $30; Five Honorable Mentions - $10 each.
  3. Submit one poem (two copies) neatly typed or computer-generated. No poem will be returned. Keep a copy for your records.
  4. On one copy only, put student’s name and address, school address and GRADE. On this same copy, student must verify that the poem has not been copied in whole or part from another author’s work, including poems on the internet. Put no identification on second copy.
  5.  A panel of judges will select the ten poems to submit for the junior and senior divisions.

ARKANSAS WRITERS STUDENT POETRY AWARD
GRADES 9-12
No entry fee.
Any subject, any form,
20 line limit
RULES:
  1.  Deadline: April 30, 2012 (Postmark) Do not mail entries before January 2012
  2.  Awards: First - $25; Second - $15; Third - $10;
  3.  No poem will be returned. Be sure to keep a copy.
  4.  Type, single or double space. One entry per student.
  5.  Attach a 3x5 card with this information:
    1.  Contest # 36-Arkansas Writers Student Poetry Award
    2.  Title of poem
    3.  First line of poem
    4.  Your name and mailing address
    5.  Name of your English teacher
    6.  Name of your school
    7.  Your grade
  6.  Poem must be your original work. Poem must be unpublished. Poem will not be published.
  7.  Mail to:

She will detach your 3x5 card before mailing your entry to the contest judge.

Winners: will be announced at the Writer's conference in June at the Holiday Inn Presidential in Little Rock. Awards will be mailed to winners who are not present



NATIONAL FEDERATION OF STATE POETRY SOCIETIES
STUDENT AWARD
GRADES 9 - 12

No entry fee.

Any subject, any form,
32 line limit.
RULES:
  1. Deadline March 15, 2012(Postmark)
  2. Awards: First - $50; Second - $30; Third - $20; 7 Honorable Mentions - $5 each.
  3. One entry per student. No poem will be returned.
  4. Send two typed or computer-generated copies of the poem on 8 1/2 x 11 white paper. Should be single-spaced.
  5. On both copies, place “#50 Student Award” in upper left corner.
  6. On second copy only, place student’s name, summer mailing address, phone number and grade in upper right corner.
  7. Poem must be your original work, must be unpublished, and not out for publication consideration.

Awards will be mailed to winners. The top three prize winning poems will be published in Prize Poems of the National Federation of State Poetry Societies Anthology.

Rules:

  1.  Submit one poem (two copies) neatly typed or computer-generated on 8 ˝ x 11 white paper, single spaced. No poem will be returned. Keep a copy for your records.
  2.  On both copies put Division (Junior or Senior) in upper left corner.
  3.  One copy should have no identification except the Division.
  4.  On second copy in upper right corner put: student name and address
    school name and address
    grade
  5. On this copy, student must certify his/her poem by writing: “My poem has not been copied in whole or part from another author’s work, including poems on the internet.” Sign your name.
  6.  Judging will be final. Winners will be contacted in March and invited to read winning poems at the Central Arkansas Library on April 14, 2012 during the Arkansas Literary Festival. Awards will be mailed to winners who are not present.
